Keep the house in the family.
Mortgage protection is life insurance sized to your home loan. If something happens to you, your family gets the money, not the bank, so they can stay in the home you built together.

Your mortgage, handled.
Most families can't cover a mortgage payment on one income, or with no income at all. Mortgage protection is a life insurance policy built around your loan balance and term, so the home stays paid for if you pass away.
Unlike the coverage your lender may offer, the benefit is paid to your family, not the bank. They can pay off the loan, keep making payments, or use the money however they need.
Many of the plans I write also include living benefits, so if you suffer a heart attack, stroke, cancer, or another qualifying illness, you can draw on the policy while you're alive to keep the payments current.
Who it's for- New homeowners and anyone who recently refinanced
- Families on one income, or two incomes that both pay the mortgage
- Parents who want the kids to keep their home, school, and friends
- Homeowners who want coverage without a medical exam
Built around your loan.
I compare plans from multiple carriers and match the coverage to your balance, your term, and your budget.
Paid to your family
The benefit goes to your beneficiaries, not your lender, so your family decides how to use it.
Matched to your mortgage
Coverage amount and length are set to your balance and remaining years, so you're not over or under insured.
Living benefits
Many plans let you access part of the benefit early for a qualifying critical, chronic, or terminal illness.
Return of premium options
Some plans refund your premiums if you outlive the term. I'll show you both versions side by side.
Often no medical exam
Many carriers approve with a phone interview and a few health questions.
Locked-in premiums
Your price is set when the policy is issued and doesn't go up for the length of the term.

Coverage you can use while you're alive.
Many of the policies I write include living benefits. If a serious illness hits, you can draw on part of your death benefit early to pay bills, cover treatment, or keep the mortgage current. Tap a card to see how it works.
Living benefit riders, qualifying conditions, and payout amounts vary by carrier, product, and state. Accelerating a benefit reduces the death benefit paid to your beneficiaries.
Common questions.
Is mortgage protection the same as PMI?
No. PMI (private mortgage insurance) protects your lender if you stop paying. Mortgage protection life insurance protects your family, and the benefit is paid to them, not the bank.
Does the coverage go down as I pay off my mortgage?
It depends on the plan. Many of the policies I recommend are level, meaning the benefit stays the same even as your balance shrinks, so there's money left over for your family. Decreasing plans exist too and can cost less.
What happens if I refinance or sell my home?
The policy belongs to you, not the loan. It stays in force as long as you pay the premiums, even if you refinance, sell, or move.
Do I need a medical exam?
Often not. Many carriers approve mortgage protection with a phone interview and a few health questions, and some decisions come back the same day.
